(1) If a postal item bearing a fake stamp or a used stamp is received from the post office, the concerned postmaster must send a written notice to the addressee asking him or his heir to come to the post office to collect the item within the specified period.
(2) Within the deadline, if the addressee or his representative appears at the post office and finds a fake stamp or a valid stamp and agrees to deliver the portion to the postmaster stating the name and address of the sender, then the postal item should be delivered to the addressee or his representative.
(3) If the addressee or his representative does not appear within the deadline, or if he does not agree to deliver the relevant part of the postal item required under sub-section (2), such postal item shall be settled in the manner prescribed by the Director General without delivery to the addressee or his representative. Explanation: For the purpose of this section, "postage stamp" means postage stamp of a foreign country.
